What is orthokeratology?

Ortho-K

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a method that corrects your vision overnight — with no permanent procedure.

Why night lenses?

More clarity. Less eyewear hassle.

Three reasons our wearers prefer night lenses to other forms of correction — told calmly, not stacked into tiles.

  1. 01 / 03

    Bye glasses.

They fog up in winter, slip in summer, and get in the way during sport. Glasses limit your freedom every single day.

    • No fogging in the cold or while eating
    • No slipping during sport or activities
    • No restricted field of view

  2. 02 / 03

    Bye contacts.

Daytime contacts dry out your eyes, especially in front of a screen and in air-conditioned rooms. They burn by evening and take time to insert in the morning.

    • No dry eyes in the afternoon
    • No daytime insertion or removal
    • No solution to carry in your hand luggage

  3. 03 / 03

    Bye laser.

Surgery carries risks and isn't always a permanent solution. Night lenses give you the same freedom — without a scalpel, without risk, fully reversible.

    • No surgical procedure required
    • Fully reversible and low-risk
    • Suitable for children and teenagers
    Natural movement without eyewear

History

Established in Germany since 2002

The foundations of orthokeratology go back to the 1960s.

  1. 1960s

Even back then it was recognised that rigid contact lenses could temporarily improve near-sightedness.

  2. 1990s

Only with the development of highly oxygen-permeable materials in the 1990s did it become possible to wear these lenses safely for extended periods — for example overnight.

  3. 2002

Since 2002 orthokeratology (Ortho-K) has been available in Germany and has established itself as a proven method for the temporary correction of refractive errors.
